My journey with crochet began when I was just 9 years old. I learned the craft and fell in love with it, but life took me in different directions, and my crochet hooks sat quietly waiting for years.

In 2020, during one of the most challenging periods of my life, battling severe postpartum depression, I found my way back to crochet. What started as a way to cope became my lifeline, my therapy, and ultimately, my purpose. The rhythmic motion of the hook, the soft yarn between my fingers, and the act of creating something beautiful from nothing helped me heal in ways I never expected.

The first thing I crocheted during this time was a bunny for my daughter. When I saw her face light up with joy, holding that handmade treasure close, I knew I had found something special. That bunny wasn't just a toy, it was love made tangible. And that's when Ubuntique was born, starting with baby shower gifts that carry the same love and intention.

Every item at Ubuntique is handmade with genuine love and care. Each stitch represents time, patience, and heart. We use only child-safe, skin-friendly materials because I personally react to certain yarn types, so I understand the importance of gentle, quality materials against delicate skin. Especially that of babies.

Beyond crochet, I've also been blessed with a vision to create sustainable clothing using only natural linen and cotton fabrics. This commitment to sustainability and quality runs through everything we do at Ubuntique.
